The Great PNW - our January adventure - Part 1

Every year, our goal is to try and visit one new place that we've never seen before, just to get away and relax and refresh ourselves. This year we decided to travel to the Pacific Northwest: Anacortes, Seattle, and wrap up in Spokane WA to visit Trevor's cousins. We had a delightful and mild-adventure filled journey. Here's a visual tour! Reviews at the bottom.

We visited probably a total of 5 coffee shops, just in Anacortes alone. They are really into craft coffee up there, and we didn't drink Starbucks the entire trip! (and we haven't had it since coming home either!) At Penguin Coffee (which was one of my favorites - hello housemade dark chocolate syrup!) we wound up mopping the floor, due to our small crew members knocking over drinks. These are the things parenthood and memories are made of!

Deception Pass State Park filled an afternoon, which was a chilly but breathtaking experience! The kids ran around on the beach, and we hiked back through the forest and along the cliffs for a while.

PS. it's called Deception Pass because originally explorers thought it was part of the mainland. There's a super narrow channel that separates this tiny island from Washington.

Looking out into the ocean. <3

Our little crew. (look at my bump though!)

Brad + Jenny. They're pretty adorable!

So, a short list of our favorites in Anacortes:

This Air BNB - We LOVED it! See our review here.
Penguin Coffee - scones are to DIE for. ::insert heart eyes::
Rockfish Grill - Trevor and the guys ate dinner here and really enjoyed it.
Whidbey Coffee  - one of the best mochas I've ever had!
Deception Pass State Park - costs about $10 a day, very worth it! If we didn't have little people who needed naps, we could have spent all day here.

Be on the lookout for part 2 coming next week!

Another PS. Would you be interested in learning how I edit and getting my Lightroom Presets? Drop a note in the comments!
